Dragon Celebrities in the Year of the Dragon

The Chinese New Year’s Celebration officially began on January 23rd 2012 and it will continue for fifteen days until February 6th.  Technically it is the year of the Black Water Dragon. 2011 was the Year of the White Wood Rabbit.  The Dragon is a year of ambition, power and great fame. It also symbolizes unpredictability, especially when it is associated with Water, which rules emotions, not rational thinking.

For those of you who do not know much about the the Chinese Horoscope, it consists of twelve signs each with a different animal and element and color assigned to it. Each of us has our own particular sign that is assigned to the period in the past when we were born.

The last year of the Dragon was 2001 and children of note born that year are Willow Smith (daughter of Will Smith) and Mackenzie Foy.  Many of the crops of celebrities born in the Year of the Dragon that began in February 17, 1988 are going to be even bigger than ever. Possibly the most famous young celebrity dragons born in this year is Rihanna who interestingly enough, is always outfitted in brilliant flame like colors from head-to-toe.

Other dragons, born in 1976-77 with a star-factor that is destined to sky-rocket are Anna Faris, Amy Smart,  Isla Fisher, Colin Farrell and Ryan Reynolds.  Sandra Bullock, Clive Owen, Russell Crowe, Keanu Reeves and Rob Lowe are also going to be in the tabloids for good reasons this year. Older stars born in the Year of the Dragon that might be impressing us again with their talents include Roseanne Barr, Mickey Rourke and Liam Neeson (from the 1952-53 crop of Dragons) and Al Pacino, Faye Dunaway and Martin Sheen (from the 1940-41 born Dragons.)
